Enabling TELUS eClaims on your Embodia account
For practitioners and clinics based out of Canada, Embodia enables you to use direct billing to insurers via TELUS eClaims. This feature integrates seamlessly with the Embodia billing features, resulting in significant time savings and less administrative hassle.
To get started with direct billing to insurers with TELUS eClaims, you must already have an account with TELUS eClaims. If you do not have an account with TELUS eClaims, you can create one at https://www.telushealth.co/eclaims/.
Quick overview
Enabling TELUS eClaims on your Embodia account
The actions described in this lesson require a Manager permission on your clinic.
By default, the TELUS eClaims integration is not enabled on your account. To enable it, click on Billing > Settings > General settings, check the Enable TELUS eClaims checkbox and then click on Update settings.

Adding your TELUS eClaims credentials
Before being able to add your TELUS eClaims credentials to Embodia, you must already have an account with Telus eClaims. If you do not have an account with TELUS eClaims, you can create one at https://www.telushealth.co/eclaims/.
Where do I find my credentials in the TELUS eClaims portal
When adding your credentials from TELUS eClaims, make sure the values you add match exactly the values from the Telus eClaims portal, otherwise, the claim submission will result in errors.
Your TELUS eClaims credentials can be found in the TELUS eClaims portal by clicking on the hamburger menu:

Adding your credentials to Embodia
To add your TELUS eClaims credentials to Embodia, click on Billing > Settings > TELUS eClaims. With TELUS eClaims, you can register as either an Independent professional or as an Organization with multiple providers.

Adding your organization
If you have set up your account on TELUS eClaims as an Independent professional, you can skip the section.
For accounts set up as an Organization on TELUS eClaims, start by adding your organization details to Embodia. To do so, click on Add organization. In the popup form, enter the organization name and Provider ID.
Click on the hamburger menu in your TELUS eClaims portal. Your Organization name and Provider ID is written at the top of the menu.

Adding your location
Once your organization details have been added, or if you are an Independent provider, click on Add location. Fill out the popup form with:
- The location name: this is just an internal name solely used on Embodia;
- The Location ID: can be found by going to the hamburger menu and selecting Business profile in your TELUS eClaims portal;
- The location address: can be found by going to the hamburger menu and selecting Business profile in your TELUS eClaims portal;
- If the location is associated with an organization, select the organization.

Adding your providers
Once a location is added, you can add providers to it by clicking on Add practitioner (each provider needs to be connected to a practitioner account on Embodia).
Go to the Providers section in your TELUS eClaims portal under the Associated Provider(s) section:

Other information (such as the username, password, licensing body, and license number) cannot be found on the TELUS eClaims portal but should be entered exactly as it was entered when registering the provider on TELUS eClaims.
What kind of response can I expect?
When you submit a claim or a predetermination claim through TELUS eClaims, a response will be returned within a few seconds. The following list is the different kinds of responses that you can expect:
- The claim can be accepted: This will return an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) that outlines how much the insurer will cover from the submitted claim;
- The claim can be rejected: This will return a Claim Rejection Notice with additional information on why the claim was rejected;
- The claim can be pending: This will return a Claim Acknowledgment response that the claim has been “Accepted for further processing”, but a final decision cannot be returned at this time;
- The claim can result in an error: This will return a description of the error and how it can be fixed.
